The Roman Catholic Church Declares Protestant Christians Heretics Who Are Damned to Hell

I earlier wrote about Nick Fuentes’ admiration of Joseph Stalin. I explained that his fondness for Stalin stemmed from his core Catholic ethic that the end justifies the means. Thus, according to Fuentes, the good end (the industrialization of Russia) justified the bad means (the genocide of 20-40 million people). Catholic theology has a way of twisting the minds and souls of its adherents to overlook the most gruesome of sins, such as the torture and massacre of millions of Protestant Christians during the Catholic Inquisition of the Dark Ages.

I have since come across a video where Nick Fuentes said the quiet part out loud. He has revealed the truth of Catholic doctrine. All Christians who refuse to submit to the Romish church are considered heretics who are damned to hell. Thus, ridding the world of heretics justifies them being tortured and murdered. The end justifies the means.

Fuentes said, “Catholics are not the same as Protestants. Catholics are Christians. Protestants are heretics.” He revealed in that one statement that the false propaganda from the Romish church that Protestants are “separated brethren” is a deceptive hooey. The actual view of the Catholic hierarchy is that Protestants are heretics, damned to hell.

The leader of the Roman Catholic organization, the Pope, has claimed that not only is he the leader of the Roman Catholics, but that he is also the head of the true church of God, including Protestant Christians, whom he refers to publicly as “separated brethren” but officially as “heretics” who are damned to hell. Nick Fuentes was simply repeating the official doctrine of the Catholic Church. The Pope boldly claims that entrance into Heaven is dependent on submission to his authority.

We declare, state and define that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of all human beings that they submit to the Roman Pontiff. Bull Unum Sanctam, Pope Boniface VIII, 1302.

Pope Boniface VIII implied by the statement in Bull Unum Sanctam that he holds the position and authority of God Almighty. Further on, you will read where the Pope expressly claims the authority of God. Jesus, however, made it clear that he, being God, was the only way to heaven. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

Not only has the Pope claimed the authority to save, but he also claims to sit in place of Almighty God with equal authority and infallibility of the Lord Jesus Christ. CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, § 2034-2035, 1994.

The Pope’s authority is preeminent not just in spiritual matters but in all matters. The Pope claims power over the governments of the earth. During the coronation ceremony, the Pope is crowned with these words: “Take thou the tiara adorned with the triple crown, and know that thou art the father of princes and kings and the governor of the world”

The Roman Pontiff judges all man, but is judged by no one. The Bull Unum Sanctam, November 18, 1302.

We declare, assert, define and pronounce: to be subject to the Roman Pontiff is to every human creature altogether necessary for salvation. . . . That which was spoken of Christ . . . ‘Thou hast subdued all things under His feet,’ may well seem verified in me. I have the authority of the King of kings. I am all in all and above all, so that God, Himself and I, The Vicar of God, have but one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do. What therefore, can you make of me but God? Pope Boniface VIII.

Pope Innocent III (1198-1216) wrote: “We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.” (1 Book of Gregory 9 Decret. c.3)

[W]e hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty. Praeclara Gratulationis Publicae, Pope Leo XIII (1894).

This one and unique Church, therefore, has not two heads, like a monster, but one body and one head, viz., Christ and his vicar, Peter’s successor. Bull Unum Sanctam, Pope Boniface VIII, 1302.

[T]he Roman pontiff possess primacy over the whole world; and that the Roman pontiff is the successor of Blessed Peter, Prince of the Apostles, and is true Vicar of Christ, and Head of the whole Church, and Father and Teacher of all Christians; and that full power was given to him in Blessed Peter by Jesus Christ our Lord, to rule, feed and govern the universal Church. . . . This is the teaching of Catholic truth, from which no one can deviate without loss of faith and of salvation. And since, by the divine right of Apostolic primacy, one Roman pontiff is placed over the universal Church, We further teach and declare that he is the supreme judge of the faithful . . . none may reopen the judgment of the Apostolic See, than whose authority there is no greater. The Vatican Council, Session IV, chapter III, July 18, 1870 (emphasis added).

[R]oyal power derives from the Pontifical authority. Pope Innocent III.

[T]emporal power should be subject to the spiritual. Pope Boniface VIII., Bull Unum Sanctam, Pope Boniface VIII, 1302.

The pope claims primacy over the whole world, but when the disciples asked Jesus who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven, Jesus did not say “Peter.” He said whoever humbles himself as a little child shall be the greatest. See Matthew 18:1-4. Christ is the head of the church, not Peter or his alleged successor, the pope. See Ephesians 5:23.

Is there one to whom Jesus promised would act in his name? Yes, the Holy Ghost, not the pope of Rome!

These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:25-26)

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

The traditional view of the Catholic Church is that the pope is the vicar of Christ on earth, and all are lost who do not submit to his authority. However, a close reading of the official Catholic Catechism reveals that Catholic doctrine is a direct attack solely on biblical Christianity. The following quote is from § 846 of the 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Basing itself on Scripture and tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a Pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it. CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH § 846 (1994).

One would think by reading that passage that the Catholic Church is saying that non-Catholics are lost. However, it is actually a condemnation of biblical Christianity. That is because it is Christians who are the group who would knowingly refuse to enter the Catholic Church and it is those who are born again who would refuse to remain in it. One might ask: “What about Muslims?” According to the official teachings of the Catholic Church Muslims go to heaven even though they are outside the Catholic Church. The Catechism of the Catholic Church § 841 states:

The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.” CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH § 841 (1994).

What about Jews? According to the official teachings of the Catholic Church Jews go to heaven even though they are outside the Catholic Church, and even though all Jews have rejected Christ. Once a Jew is saved he becomes a Christian; he is no longer a Jew. According to the Catholic Church, however, conversion is unnecessary because the Jews have a “sonship” based upon an “irrevocable” calling of God, simply by virtue of being of the Jewish “race.” In fact, the Catholic Catechism states that the Jewish race is Christ. That is exactly what the Talmud says. The religion of Judaism establishes that the Jews themselves are their own Christ. The Catholic Church accepts that doctrine and has made it part of its official catechism. The Catechism of the Catholic Church § 839 states:

The relationship of the Church with the Jewish People. When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, “the first to hear the Word of God.” The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God’s revelation in the Old Covenant. To the Jews “belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ,” “for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.” CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH § 839 (1994).

In fact, the official teaching of the Catholic Church is that “Israel is the priestly people of God, called by the name of the LORD, and the first to hear the word of God, the people of elder brethren in the faith of Abraham.” CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH § 839 (1994). The Catholic Church officially views Jews as elder brethren of the faith of Abraham. The faith of Abraham signifies saving faith. According to the Catholic Church, Jews are saved by virtue of their fleshly lineage as Jews, without regard to whether they have faith in Jesus.

What about the other heathen religions? Believe it or not, members of heathen religions are included among the saved of the world. The official Catholic doctrine is that a heathen who does not believe in Jesus is included in God’s plan for salvation, because according to § 843 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church God “wants all men to be Saved.” Catechism of the Catholic Church § 842 further states:

The Church’s bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race: All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH § 842 (1994).

The Catholic plan for salvation sounds pretty inclusive. Who isn’t part of the Catholic plan for salvation? The answer is found in § 846 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It states: “Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.”

Remember, Catholic doctrine has a plan for salvation for Jews, Muslims, and other heathen religions that does not require conversion to Catholicism. However, there is no plan for salvation for those who refuse to enter or remain in the Catholic Church who are not either a Muslim, a Jew, or some other heathen. There is only one group left out of the Catholic plan for salvation: Christians. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is a theological attack on the Christian Church. The official Catholic doctrine is that all Christians who refuse to convert to Catholicism or who leave the Catholic Church are damned to hell. All the talk by the Catholic Church calling Protestants “separated brethren” is a diabolical deception. Their official doctrine is that Protestant Christians are unsaved and headed for hell.

In addition to damning Christians to hell, the official teachings of the Catholic Church contain repeated anathemas against anyone who disagrees with the official Catholic teachings. For example, Council of Trent Canon XXIV states:

If anyone say that the justice received is not preserved and also increased before God through good works; but that the said works are merely the fruits and signs of justification obtained, but not a cause of the increase thereof, let him be anathema.

That curse is aimed directly at Jesus Christ and his perfect gospel. In the Holy Scriptures, the point is made time and again that works are the fruit of salvation. Those same works, however, do not themselves merit salvation. Salvation is the unmerited gift of God.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:4-10)

The gospel of Jesus Christ is that our sins are remitted once and for all by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. There is no more sacrifice needed for our sins.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. (Hebrews 10:10-18)

Catholic doctrine, however, curses those who adhere to the gospel message of the grace of God wherein Jesus sacrifice on the cross obtained for us the remission of all our sins. Council of Trent Canon XXX states:

If anyone saith that, after the grace of justification has been received, to every penitent sinner the guilt is remitted, and the debt of the eternal punishment is blotted out in such a way that there remains not any debt of temporal punishment to be discharged either in this world, or in the next in Purgatory, before the entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven can be opened (to him); let him be anathema.

It is the official doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church that has been memorialized in an Ex Cathedra pronouncement Exsurge Domine (1520) from Pope Leo X that it is apostasy to say “[t]hat heretics be burned is against the will of the Spirit.” See Point 33 of Exsurge Domine.

Pope Leo X, in his pronouncement defending burning heretics (Protestant Christians) at the stake, stated that to argue against the practice would be destructive “of the vigor of ecclesiastical discipline.” Indeed, anyone who argued against burning heretics would be subject to “automatic major excommunication.” One punishment for “major excommunication” was … wait for it … being burned at the stake. Ironically, one who spoke against the practice of burning at the stake could find himself burned at the stake if, after being tortured, he refused to recant his heretical beliefs. Burning at the stake was typically imposed on those the church considered unrepentant heretics. Often, a heretic would be horrifically tortured, and if, after being tortured, the “heretic” persisted in his heresy, he would be marched off to be burned at the stake.

History reports the extermination of those the Romish church adjudged “heretics.” Foxe’s Book of Martyrs documents just a few notable examples of the brutal persecution of Christians by the predacious Roman Catholic Church.

The Roman Catholic Church is particularly threatened by the word of God. The official doctrines of the Catholic Church have historically tried to suppress the publication, possession, or reading of the Holy Bible. The Roman Church knows that if the people can read for themselves God’s word, they will discover that the Catholic traditions and doctrines are not just in addition to the Scriptures; they violate the Scriptures. The Catholic Church has a long history of trying to keep God’s word from the people. For example, at the Council of Terragona in 1234 A.D., the Roman Catholic Church prohibited anyone from possessing any part of the Old or New Testaments in any of the Romance languages (Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, Provencal, French, Rhaeto-Romance, Italian, Sardinian, and Romanian). The council ruled that anyone owning a Bible was to turn it over to the local Catholic bishop to be burned. In 1229, at the Council of Toulouse (Pope Gregory IX presiding), the Catholic Church prohibited “laymen” from having the Holy Scriptures or translating them into the “vulgar tongue” (common language of the country). In 1551, the Catholic Inquisitional Index of Valentia forbade the Holy Bible to be translated into Spanish or any other “vernacular.” In 1559, the Roman Catholic Index Librorum Prohibitorum (Index of Prohibited Books) required permission from the Catholic Church to read the Catholic version of the Bible; all Christian Bible versions were simply prohibited. On September 8, 1713, Pope Clement XI issued his Dogmatic Constitution, Unigenitus, which in part condemned as error the teaching that all people may read the Sacred Scripture. On May 5, 1824, Pope Leo XII issued his encyclical Ubi Primum, which exhorted the bishops to remind their flocks not to read the Bible. On May 24, 1829, Pope Pius VIII issued the encyclical Traditi Humilitati, which exhorted Catholics to check the spread of Bibles translated into the vernacular, because those Bibles endangered the “sacred” teachings of the Catholic Church. On May 8, 1844, Pope Gregory XVI issued his encyclical Inter Praecipuas in which he described Bible societies as plotting against the Catholic faith by providing Bibles to the common people, whom he referred to as “infidels.” On January 25, 1897, Pope Leo XIII issued his Apostolic Constitution Officiorum ac Munerum, which prohibited all versions of the Bible in the vernacular tongue. The 1918 Catholic Code of Canon Law, Index of Prohibited Books, Canon 1385, § 1 prohibited publishing any edition of the Holy Scriptures without previous Catholic “ecclesiastical censorship.” The 1983 Catholic Code of Canon Law, Canon 825, § 1 prohibits the publishing of the Sacred Scriptures without the permission of the Apostolic See or the Conference of Bishops.

The efforts to suppress God’s word were not mere suggestions; they were enforced. For example, on October 6, 1536, at Vilvorde (outside Brussels, Belgium) William Tyndale was burned at the stake. His crime was that he translated the Holy Scriptures into English and was making copies available to the people in violation of the rules of the Roman Catholic Church.

The papacy is laying in wait like a ravenous lion. One day, the papacy will gain primacy over the governments of the world. There is no new thing under the sun. “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9) Pope Pius IX stated in his Syllabus of Errors: “[It is error to believe that] the [Catholic] Church has not the power of using force, nor has she any temporal power, direct or indirect.”

The pope will simply dust off his tried and true system that has lain dormant for centuries; he will coopt the force of government to act as executioners of its judgments rendered in its ecclesiastical trials under the auspices of the office of the Inquisition.

The arm of the Vatican that carried out the torture and murder of millions of Christians is still in operation today. After going through several name changes that redacted the ominous word “Inquisition” from its title, it has survived today under the title of “Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.” It is the same office that presided over the ecclesiastical tortures and murders of those refusing to submit to the authority or dogma of the pope during the Middle Ages. The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith still holds weekly meetings today in its original Palace of the Inquisition, which is adjacent to the Vatican. The Grand Inquisitor, who is the chief enforcer of Catholic dogma, is viewed as an honored and powerful position within the Catholic hierarchy today. For example, one recent Grand Inquisitor, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, was able to use his significant political power within the curia to become elected Pope Benedict XVI.

The Vatican is just laying the groundwork for its ascendance. Otto von Bismarck reportedly explained: “Rome in the minority is a lamb. Rome as an equal is a fox. Rome in the majority is a tiger.” The pope masquerades as a harmless lamb, but under that sheep’s clothing is a ravenous beast, like unto that which possesses him. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 Peter 5:8. See also Matthew 7:15.
